Do I need an API key?
No! Quick mode works out of the box: drop a document or type a topic, then click Generate.
Optionally, you can use your own free Google key (up to 50 questions per generation, nothing goes through our account):
1. Go to Google AI Studio
2. Sign in and click "Create API Key"
3. In QUIZ AI Builder, open 🧰 Other ways to create → Use my own Google key and paste it
What are the limits of the free version?
• 5 free quizzes every month (reset on the 1st), or Premium (€6.99/month) for unlimited quizzes
• Quick mode: up to 5 generations per day (50 per day with Premium) and 20 questions per generation, so the service stays fast for everyone
• With your own Google key or manual mode: up to 50 questions per generation
What if my topic isn't in the list?
There is no list to choose from: just type any topic in the box, or drop your own document (PDF, text, image) — the AI will generate questions based on YOUR material. Use type and domain are optional, in ⚙️ Customize.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Here is exactly what happens:
• We never store your documents, quizzes or questions — your quiz is created directly in your Google Form
• Quick mode: your document or topic is sent to Google's free Gemini API through our account, only to write your questions. Google may use it to improve its products, so avoid personal or confidential documents
• Own Google key: your key stays in your Google account and nothing goes through ours
• Local AI: your documents never leave your computer
• Anonymous statistics: we keep daily totals only (quizzes, questions, number of users), with no email, no name and no quiz content
• News by email: your email address is saved only if you check “Receive add-on news by email”, and deleted as soon as you uncheck it
• No tracking, no ads. Details in our Privacy Policy.
Why does the JSON validation fail sometimes?
This can happen if the AI response contains extra text. Make sure to:
• Copy ONLY the JSON (from { to })
• Remove any text before or after the JSON
• Remove markdown code blocks (```json ... ```)
The validator will try to auto-fix common issues automatically.
Why don't grid questions display correctly?
This is a known Google Forms limitation. After importing questions:
• Press F5 to refresh the page
• Grid questions will then display correctly
• You may also need to manually set correct answers for grids
Can I use local AI for maximum privacy?
Yes! Local AI = total confidentiality.

Yes! Quick mode creates up to 20 questions per generation (50 with your own Google key or manual mode), but you can generate multiple times. Each generation adds to your existing form, so you can easily create quizzes with 100+ questions.
Can I create quizzes to help my children revise for school?
